RITE HELD FOR BOB TAYLOR (April 17 1916-April 13, 2002)
R. B. "Bob" Taylor, 85, of Glen Rose died on Saturday at Glen Rose Medical Center. He had been in declining health. Funeral service was conducted on Tuesday afternoon at Wiley funeral chapel here with the interment following in Squaw Creek Cemetery. A native of Neinda, near Hamlin, he was born on April 17, 1916, a son of George Jackson and Julia Ann Waddle. He was married to Maudie Mae Harville on July 1, 1951, at Fort Worth. She preceded him in death on September 5 of last year. Taylor was retired owner and operator of Glen Rose Motel and Taylor Insulation. He graduated from Neinda schools in 1934 and served in the US Army during World War II participating in five major battles including Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. Taylor was member of the Baptist Church, served on the board of trustees of Glen Rose Independent School District, was a past president of the Glen Rose-Somervell County Chamber of Commerce, was a past president of the PTA, was a member of the Glen Rose Senior Citizens Center and had received the "Older Texan Award". Survivors include: two sons, Leldon Lynn "Zeke" Taylor of Fort Worth and Vernon Stacy Taylor of Grapevine; one sister, Julia Money of Hamlin, and two grandsons. Wiley Funeral Home of Glen Rose was in charge of arrangments. T
