R. H. Gary Dead
Mr. R. H. Gary, one of the county's well known citizens, passed away at his home in the Hickey community Friday afternoon, after a short illness. Mr. Gary was 80 years of age & had been a resident of this county since 1859. He had lived in the community in which he died some 40 years. He was a good citizen, an honest, industrious man & a kind obliging neighbor. Interment was in the new cemetery in this city Sat. afternoon, Rev. C. W. Stumph conducting the services.

The many friends here of the Bertie Hardin family deeply sympathize with them in the loss of their son last week. Mr. Harding was a brother of Mrs. Elroy Ross, who was called to his home Sat. when the accident occurred. Ms. HardinG is a neice of Mrs. Le---- Brooks & Mrs. Jack Bridges.

L. L. Hale, principal of the Henderson High School, was called to Troup Monday morning on account of his brother having been accidentally shot. No further details were available at the time we go to press.

Services for Marlin Hardin, 84, of Henderson will be 10 am Saturday at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Gene Walker officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home. Mr. Hardin died Wednesday at a Tyler Hospital. Born April 21 1910 in Panola County, He was retired as a self employed cattleman and a member of Southside Baptist Church. Survivors include wife, Mollie Hardin of Henderson; daughter, Marcia Jane Winn of Henderson; two sons, Charles Hardin of Coppell and W. C. Hardin of Lewisville; sister, Bonnie Pearl Ross of Henderson ; seven grandchildren , six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews

Died Christmas Day
Little Miss Mary Denver, 8 year old dau. of Mr. & Mrs. Ernest Hayden of this county, died at their home about 1:00 pm, Christmas Day, following a short illness. Internment took place Wed. morning in the Ebenezer cemetery, with Rev. M. C. Rook preaching the funeral sermon. Sympathy of the Times is extended the bereaved family.

Services for the Rev. Howard "Jim" Hicks, 82, of Henderson will be 1 pm. Saturday with the Rev Raymond Bugg officiating. Burial will be in Crims Chapel Cemetery. The Rev Hicks died Wednesday at a Henderson Hospital. Born Jan 22 1913 in Kansas City Mo. He was a retired Baptist minister with Temple Baptist Church in Detroit, Mich and was a member of West Main Baptist Church. Survivors include wife, Mary Lenore Hicks of Henderson; two sons, John Hicks of Overton and James Hicks of Sulphur, La, seven grandchildren and one nephew.

Services for Mrs. Alene Hill of Dallas, formerly of Kilgore, will be 1 pm today at Kilgore Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary N. Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Post Oak Cemetery under the direction of Cunningham Funeral Directors. Mrs. Hill died Sunday in a Dallas Hospital. Born Oct 12 1935 in Kilgore, she was a member of New Light Baptist Church in Kilgore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Hill, father Evie Carr; sister, Mary Lois "Carr" Page and brother, Earnest "Bubba" Carr. Survivors include mother, Janie Hayes of Kilgore; two sisters, Maxine Law of Dallas and Margene Carr Kilpatrick of Carson, Calif; three aunts and uncle and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services for Emma Craig Hunt, 84, of Henderson will be at 2 pm Monday at Crawford-A Crim Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Biser officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Hunt died Saturday in a Kilgore hospital. She was a retired salesperson for Bealls Department Store and a Member of First United Methodist Church of Henderson,. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred W. Hunt and a son. Survivors include three sisters, Billie Flanagan, Bettye Johnson, and Esther Harris, all of Henderson; four grandchildren, six great grand children; and several nieces and nephews.

JOSEPH LAFAYETTE HUNT(First Husband of Annie Fears Hunt Propes) Funeral services were held Monday for J. L. Hunt, 72, Henderson resident who died at his home on Van Sickle Street at 7 a.m. Sunday (December 17, 1939). Interment was at the Welch Cemetery in the Woodglen community Monday (December 18, 1939) at 11:00 a.m.. Hunt had been ill for about two years. The Rev. E. L. Jones, Baptist Minister from Jacksonville conducted services with the A. Crim Funeral Home in charge. Hunt had lived here about 15 years. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Annie Hunt; two sons, Deason Hunt of Henderson and Willie of Tennessee; and a daughter, Mrs. Bill Stewart, who resides in Longview. Pall Bearers were George Wood, Clint Teller, F. A. Daniel, and Cliff Hale. DEASON L. HUNT (son of Joseph Lafayette Hunt-Annie Fears) Carthage -- Services for Deason L. Hunt, 71, of Carthage will be 2 p.m. today at Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel with the with the Rev. E. L. Jones and the Malcom McHard officiating. Burial will be in Welch Cemetery in Rusk County. Mr. Hunt died Saturday after a long illness. He had lived in Carthage since 1967, moving from Hallsville. He was retired from the Singer Sewing Machine Co. and had run a repair shop in Carthage after retirement. He was a member of the First Christian Church and a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ozie Mae Hunt of Carthage; one son, Deason, Jr. of Lake Jackson; two step-daughters, Mrs. Penny Crayton of Bossier City, La., and Mrs LaNell Chadick of Dumfries, Va.; one siater, Mrs. Gladys Stewart of Carthage; one brother Willie T. of Elizabethton, Tennessee; and six grandchildren.

AUSTIN C. HUNT (6/10-1900 -10/27/1969) Funeral services for Austin C. Hunt, 69, of 1811 E. Main, Henderson, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Eastside Baptist Church here with Rev. Bob Braly officiating. Interment will be in Hunt Cemetery under the direction of Bryan-Cothron Funeral home. Hunt was pronounced dead on arrival at Henderson Memorial Hospital at 5 p.m. Monday after suffering a sudden illness. A native and lifelong resident of Rusk County, Hunt was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church and worked as a painting contractor. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Clara Hunt of Henderson; three daughters, Mrs. Frank Wooster and Mrs. Lou Morris, both of Henderson, and Mrs. Kenneth Beene of Shreveport, La.; one son, Bobby Hunt of Denham Springs, La, and two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Kennington and Mrs. Grace Lawson, both of Shreveport, La. Ten grandchildren also survive. Pallbearers will be J. C. Duran, O. F. Burks, Jack Hillin, Russell Porter, Bill Eastland, Charles Ray Hutto, Frank Craig, and Jodie Freeman.
