Sunday was an unusually good day in the church for several reasons...Bro. Cornelius
preached a good sermon, the church was made more beautiful by a gift of lovely hyacinths
from Mr. & Mrs. Bob Allison of Timpson, and the offering was greatly increased by a
very kind donation from Mr. C. M. Webb. Another nice thing about the day was the presence
of 3 of our boys home for visits. Hoya Murphy from Carthage, Clemons Ash from Houston, and
Charlie Sanford from College Station. Bernard Ash also visited his mother during the
weekend.

Mrs. Bernice Broome has as her guest Tues., Doris & Mrs. Ann Broome.
Miss Billie Broome visited Miss Mary Francis Wade Sunday.
Mr. & Mrs. W. J. Stafford had as their guests Sun. afternoon, Mr. & Mrs. W. W.
Stafford & Mrs. Doris Sosha & little daughter, all of Greggton.
Mr. Jack Rucker from US Army in Wyoming, is visiting in the home of Mr. & Mrs. W. B.
Perry & other friends.
Mr. & Mrs. T. L. McDonald had as their guests Sun., Mr. & Mrs. J. G. McDonald
& sons J. G. & John Birdwell. Also Mr. Ivy Burgess, Mrs. Annete Fears, Mr. &
Mrs. Earl Turner.
Jack Kerns was briefly a visitor in Henderson Wed. morning
on his way to Marshall.
Mrs. Maurice White & daughter Virginia Dell, were calling on friends in Gladewater
Tues.
Dr. & Mrs. T. D. Brooks of College Station were in Henderson Sunday, guests of Mrs. H.
G. Baldwin. The ladies are sisters.
Miss Doris Dennard from Lufkin has been visiting with Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Wylie, the
latter being her sister.
Miss Hazel Phillips spent Saturday night & Sunday with Johnnie Sue Gage.
Mr. & Mrs. John McCormack & family of Brachfield spent Sunday with Mr. & Mrs.
J. L. Parker.
Mr. & Mrs. Woodrow Patrick & son spent Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Bob Phillips.
Mr. & Mrs. Jule R. Smith & their little daughter Della Gray returned last Sunday
to Houston. They were guests here of Mrs. Della Gray Dean & Mrs. C. P. Smith.

Mr. & Mrs. W. C. Rainbolt & W. C., Jr., attended the fat stock show in Fort Worth
early this week.
Mrs. Turner Nix has the sympathy of all her friends in the loss of her sister, Mrs. Jewel
Atkinson of Dotson last week.
Mr. C. B. Potts of Carthage, on business at College Station, took Mr. & Mrs. Gary
Sanford down Friday to spend a few hours with Charlie who is in A. & M.
Miss Ruth Causey met last Wed. with the Woman's Home Demonstration Club in regular
session.
Mr. W. J. Scroggins of Oklahoma is the guest in the home of his brother-in-law, Mr. J. A.
Herring.
The Jess Parker home was gay over the week-end with guests. Misses Ivan, Lerma & Ruby
Joplin of Garrison, & Miss Marie Keating & Mr. & Mrs. Obie Griffin of Dotson
made up the group.

Mrs. Ed Taylor, who has undergone a major operation at the Henderson hospital is improving
nicely now. Mrs. Taylor expects to be able to come home Thurs.
