3. James Smith, recorded serving September 23, 1843, died in office in 1855.

4. John Cherry Miller, recorded serving in September 23, 1843.

5. Robert L. Lane, recorded serving in 1844,resigned his office July 7, 1845.

6. Taylor Brown, recorded serving in 1844, resigned September 27, 1845.

7. Elijah Allen, recorded serving March 4, 1845.

8. William C. Kelly, replaced Robert L. Lane on August 26, 1845, resigned August 29, 1956.

9. Richard Magee, reported serving March 4, 1845, resigned his office February 27, 1858.

10. Hiram C. Vansickle, replaced Taylor Brown, serving in 1845, he was replaced by John P. Grigsby.

11. John P. Grigsby, replaced H.C. Vansickle in October 1846, resigned February 12, 1848. Re-appointed February 27, 1855 to replace James Smith, who died. Grigsby removed from Rusk County circa 1865.

12. William Colwell, recorded serving in 1847, died before January 1848.

13. John S. Carethers, appointed to replace Colwell in January 1848, died in office in 1855.

14. William L. McMurray Sr,  replaced Grigsby on November 20, 1848, died in office in 1866.

15. Isaac R. Worrel, appointed February 27, 1855 to replace J. S. Carethers, who died.

16. A.J. Smith, elected Commissioner on August 19, 1856.

17. Colby W. Crawford, elected Commissioner on August 19, 1856.

18. Benjamin F. McDonough, elected commissioner on August 19, 1856, to replace William C. Kelly. McDonough moved from the county in 1863.

19. T.J. Durham, replaced Ben F. McDonough on March 21, 1863.

20. Martin Casey, appointed November 27, 1866.*

21.J.L. Miller, appointed November 27, 1866.*
