Edgar Wilmer Whitehead (1901-1976), son of Robert Lee Whitehead and Anna Matilda Bell Whitehead, lived his entire life as a farmer in Rusk County. He married Cleotic Christine Hendon, October 15, 1922.

The Whiteheads had twelve children. (1) The first, Edgar Laverne Whitehead, married Lorene Davis, and they had three children—David, Eddie (deceased), and Donald. (2) Margaret Louise married Fred E. Douglas and had two children, Mary Louise Douglas Graves, and Tommy Douglas. (3) Ruby Catherine Richardson Cates had one child, Rodger Richardson. (4) A. Marie married William Hugh (Bill) Ross, and they had two children, Carol Ann Ross Young and Robert William (deceased). (5) James Wilmer and his wife, Betty Kubiak, had five children: Brenda Kay Brown, Kenneth James, Robert Dale, Diana Sue Whitehead Morgan, and Patricia Ann Whitehead Williams. (6) Hazel Onetha, who married Bobby Wade, had two children, Michael and Cynthia Wade Holland. (7) Opal Christine married Bob Thorn, and their two children are Christi Lynn Thorn Nichols, and Phillip. (8) Buddy Rodger Whitehead married Dorothy Nash, and their four children are: Carl Wayne, John Darrell, Randall Scott, Debbie Mae (9) Alice Wayne married Jerry Brian (now deceased). They had two children, Ricky and Kelly Dean Brian. Alice is a twin to Gladys. (10) Gladys Jane (now deceased) married Gene Capps and had two sons, David and Gregory Capps. (11) Robbie Jo, who married Homer W. Capps (now deceased) and they had three children: Kenneth, Pamela, and Scott Capps. (12) Billy Eugene married Rita Graham. Their children are: Tammy Murphy, Michaelle, and Leandra Whitehead.
