Woodford Wallace was born on March 27, 1800, and Martha Ann Crosley was born October 7, 1830, both in Green County, Georgia. They were married October 11, 1849. Four children were born to this union; Sara Ann, John Edward, Nancy Jane, and Alvey Wallace. Sarah Ann was born on September 23, 1850 in Green County, Georgia. She died September 30, 1923 in Rusk County, Texas. Sarah Ann was married to Jasper F. Parker, who was born August 19, 1848 and died July 4, 1883. John Edward was born February 6, 1852. Nancy Jane was born March 21, 1853 and died March 18, 1933. Alvey Wallace was born March 7, 1855.

The first child of Sarah Ann and Jasper F. Parker was Cuthbert (Bert) Alexander, born on December 3, 1870. Their second son, Marlon, (Jack) Woodward, who was born December 10, 1872 and died May 24, 1909, married Della Anderson of Mt. Enterprise, Texas. The Parkers daughter, Celia Ann, who was born October 24, 1874, died August 16, 1933. She married Allen Lester Swinney. Another daughter, Melissa Vernon, was born October 27, 1876 and died June 10, 1959 while living in El Paso, Texas. She was married to Thomas William Swinney, brother to Allen L. Nancy Elizabeth, the third daughter, was born October 27, 1882 and died August 11, 1889. The sixth child, Jasper Edward, was born November 25, 1882 and died January 6, 1946. J.E. (Boy) married Archie Morris, who was born March 13, 1884, on November 26, 1902.

At the time of Boy’s death, the family was living in Nolan County, near Roscoe, Texas. Boy and Archie were the parents of nine children; Dawson, Albert, Donald Ray, Connie Opal, Hazel Inez, Emery Ira, Walter Tillman, Ralph Edell, Velma Irene, and Bonnie.

Boy and Archie moved to Roscoe in 1919 and Archie died here in May, 1963. Later the family moved to Inadale, Dawson Albert of Houston and Connie Opal of Hermleigh have both died since their mother’s death. Hazel Emery and Bonnie are also deceased. Donald Ray lives near Henderson; Walter Tillman, in Roscoe ; and Velma Irene, in Abilene. Ralph Edell, at the time of his mother’s death, lived in Arlington.

Melissa Vernon Parker and Tom Swinney were the parents of two daughters, Noema Jessie and Ellie. Noema Jessie was born September 5, 1900. She is the widow of Hogg Gage, son of Lum and Elizabeth Parker Gage. Noema lives in Austin. Ellie was born August 22, 1903. She and her first husband, Oscar Henson, had two sons, Hugh M. and Leon. Hugh is living in San Antonio and Leon in California. Ellie’s second marriage was to E.G. Oxley of California.
