 The following bio was taken from page 309 of the book entitled “Rusk County History” compiled and edited and used with permission of the Rusk County Historical Commission.

 Lewis LaFayette Milstead married Lou Armstrong in Alabama.  They later moved to Rusk County, Ebenezer Community.  The Milsteads had ten children of their own and adopted one.

 Willie E. married, circa 1894, Nellie Sprayberry.  They had six children: Douglas, Charles, Ruby, who married a Parnell; Alama, who married Franklin V. Webb; Leottis, who married Harry G. Wriggs; and Geneva, who married Jim B. Henderson.

 Belton married Rosie Johnson.  They had six children: Earnest, who married Julia McKay; Colquit, who married Lena Lyles; Aubrey, who married Emma Wright; Houston, who married Gladys Bane; Vada, who married Vernon Brooks and had the following children: Irma Belle, who married first Hubert Hammett and then Fonza Davis; Belton; Billy, Harley; and Lela, who married John Pruitt and had a son and a daughter, Doris Pruitt.

 Horace married Lula Johnson in 1911.  He died in 1944.  Their children were: Denson; Delbert; Horace, Jr.; Billy Mack; Inez, who married Brachfield Knight; Imogene; and Irene, who married J.T. Cook.

 Albert Verdell (1888-1968) married Cora Weatherford (1893-1969).  Their daughter, Betty Lou, married Seymour E. Russell.

 Homer married Jannette Rogers.  Their daughter, Lottie Lee, married Butch Walker.

 Jennie married Bob Johnson circa 1895.  They had six children: Thurman; Jack; Lula; who married Troy Miley; Vera, who married Donald Sprayberry; and Bessie, who married Pink Warren; and Hassie.

 Addie married Wilborn Sprayberry circa 1930 and had three children: Tessie Lou, who first married a Fears and later Clint Biffs; Fay married Jimper; and Herman married Inez.

 Minnie married Johnny Swinney circa 1910.  They had four children: John Lewis, Foy, Delmer, and Eugene.

 Nora married Irwin Moore and had two children: Mattie Lee, who married Travis Mashburn and Cleburne Moore.

Ruth married Douvard Hammett and had three children: Fannie Lou, who married W.F. Waggoner; LaNell, who married A.J. Baker; and Preston Hammett.

 Herman Milstead (adopted by L.L. and Lou Armstrong Milstead) married Inez.
