EMORY LLOYD II

 The following bio was taken from page 289 of the book entitled “Rusk County History” compiled and edited and used with permission of the Rusk County Historical Commission.

 Emory Lloyd II was the son of James Monroe Lloyd and Pamelia Hamilton Lloyd.  He was born July 29, 1854 and died December 8, 1923.  He was a graduate of Trinity University, located at Waxahachie, Texas, and taught school for many years in East Texas.  Emory Lloyd II married Siddie Davis December 23, 1880.  She was the daughter of William Preston Davis and Rachel Carr.  They had twelve children, two of whom died in infancy.

 Their first child was Rachel Pamelia Lloyd (1881-1970).  She married Marshall V. Sharp (1885-1980).  They had one child, William Earl Sharp (1910- ).  He married Mary Will John.

 Werdna Lloyd was the second child (1884-1967).  She married James Christian Rogers (1883-1959).  Their children were:  Emory Lloyd Rogers (1906-1973); who married Ara Barber (1910-1960); James Virgil Rogers (1908- ), who married Sammie Maurine Weatherly (1912- ); Murray Howard Rogers (1910-1956); Finis Edwin Rogers (1913- ), who married Lois Anderson; Douglas Christian Rogers (1915- ), who married Dorothy Ferguson; Mack Thorton Rogers (1918- ), who married Jessie Laverne Taylor; and Mary Lois Rogers (1920- ), who married Fred Miller.

 The third child of Emory Lloyd II was Martha Flora Lloyd (1886-1969).  She married Clifton L. Crim (1887-1979).  Their children were:  Julia Mary Crim (1911- ), who married Roderic (Rhode) P. Craig, (1902-1979); Donald Lee Crim (1917- ), who married Helen Walk; Roy Clifton Crim (1919- ), who married Francis Goodlett; and Preston Manly Crim (1926- ) who married Donabel Richards.

 James William Lloyd was the fourth child.  He was born in 1888 and died in 1973.  He married Lena Brown.  Their children were:  Harris Lloyd (1914- ), who married Violet Weaver; James Edward Lloyd (  ), who married Dorothy Williams; Margaret Lloyd (1922- ), who married Charles A. Morris; and Dale Lloyd (1928- ), who married May Prichard.

 The sixth child was Edith Maurine Lloyd (1890-1976).  She married William Walker King (1888-1958).  Their children were:  Travis Winston King 1911-1940), who married Billie Patton; Sybil Elizabeth King (1914- ), who married Dan H. Dickeson (1912- ); Joe Graham King (1919- ), who married Hazel Carlton, deceased; and then Joe Graham, who married Rebecca Burt.

 Emory Lloyd III was the seventh child.  He was born in 1891 and died in 1979.  He married Annie Vinson.  Their children were:  Mary Emily Lloyd (1925-1937) and Kenneth Howard Lloyd (1929- ).

 The eighth child was Lillian Imogene Lloyd (1893-1969).  She married Virgil A. Harris.  They had no children.

 Sidney Davis Lloyd was born in 1895 and died in 1964.  He married Hortense Leah Motley.  Their children were:  Rachel Alice Lloyd (1925- ), who married Tom Watson; and Robert Motley Lloyd (1928- ), who married Joan Kelly Baker.

 Joe Graham Lloyd was born April 17, 1896 and died November 11, 1918 in France.  He was not married.

Charles Ernest Lloyd was born in 1898.  He married Addie Mae Curbo.  They had no children.
