The William M. Green family came to Rusk County in 1870 from Ashley County, Arkansas. William M. Green was born March 5, 1836 in Butler County, Alabama. He died December 26, 1917 in Mt. Enterprise and is buried in the Old Town Cemetery, Mt. Enterprise. His parents were Thomas Green and Eada Ray. He married Georgia Angelina (Annie) Barrett, February 24, 1858 of Ashley County, Arkansas. She was born March 25, 1842, in Attala County, Mississippi and died in Mt. Enterprise, February 11, 1926 and is buried in Old Town Cemetery. Her parents were R. Joseph Barrett and Elsa Ann Elizabeth Barnes.

The Greens were the parents of the following eight children: Franklin Green, who was born in 1858 in Ashley County, Arkansas and died before 1870. Josephine Green, who was born April 17, 1862, in Ashley County, Arkansas and died September 16, 1916 in Appleby, Nacogdoches County and is buried in Shady Grove Cemetery, Nacogdoches County. She married Bryant Lemuel Humphreys of Rusk County, November 7, 1880.

Richard Green was born in 1864, in Ashley County, Arkansas and died in February 1913 in Granger, Williamson County, Texas and is buried in Granger. He married Effie Pope, August 26, 1895 in Granger, Williamson County. John A. Green was born May 31, 1866 in Ashley County, Arkansas and died in 1956, in Hawley, Jones County, Texas. He married Maggie Dawson, March 29, 1894, Nacogdoches County.

Robert Green was born January 3, 1868, in Ashley County, Arkansas and died October 21, 1951 at Mt. Enterprise and is buried in Sand Hill Cemetery, Rusk County. He married Alice Lillian Coats, December 13, 1889, in Rusk County. William Thomas Green was born September 10, 1870, in Mt. Enterprise and died April 3, 1942, in Henderson and is buried in Shiloh Cemetery. He married, first, Armintie Anderson, November 14, 1894 of Rusk County, and, second, Oleloa Ann Hudgins, December 1, 1909 of Rusk County.

Mary Frances Green was born May 25, 1872 in Mt. Enterprise and died January 25, 1941, in Henderson and is buried in Old Town Cemetery, Mt. Enterprise. She married Troj Blake Carlton, December 9, 1891 in Rusk County.

Ella Elizabeth Green, was born March 5, 1874 in Mt Enterprise and died February 8, 1951 in Mt. Enterprise and is buried in Sand Hill Cemetery, Rusk County. She married John Lemuel Coats, December 26, 1891, in Rusk County.
