Both Robert and Annette died of cystic fibrosis at ages 25 and 26.  Fred served twenty-two years with the Army and retired as a  Colonel in 1965.  He is now Chief Food Director of A&M University, College Station, Texas.  Arlene, Fred and Frances’ daughter, married Ivo Junek and has one child, Suzanne.  They reside in Houston.

I, Bonnie Jean, married George L. Hardy in 1928.  We have two daughters, Barbara and Linda.  Both girls graduated from Gaston High School.  By the way, the rock walls on the Gaston campus are made of rock from the Hardy farm.

Barbara married Harland Barton of the Grandview Community and resides in Henderson.  They have two daughters, Sherri and Beverly.  Sherri married Mitch Alford of Henderson and Beverly married Toby Haydel of Carlisle.  Both couples reside in Henderson.

Linda and her husband, Duane Gibbs of Joinerville, have three children.  Linda now lives in Nacogdoches.  Their three children are:  Chris, Melinda and Todd.

My husband, George, worked as a mechanic and was a partner of “Hardy and Boss Garage”.  He also worked as a car salesman.  When World War II caused car sales to be frozen, George turned to oil field work.  He went to work for Hunt Oil Company in late 1942 and retired in 1965.  Today we still reside next door to my old home place, raise cattle, and maintain the pasture that Papa bought many years ago.
