I, James B. Deason, am a resident of Rusk County.  I was born June 25, 1906 in Brachfield.  I have been a barber in Henderson since 1925, except for the time spent in the army during World War II.  Loma Crook and I were married June 16, 1929.  Loma was born August 5, 1911 at Miller, which was later changed to Joinerville.  Her parents were Solomon and Mary Elizabeth Worrell Crook.  She is a salesperson in a ready-to-wear.

We have one son, James Byron, born January 28, 1932 at Joinerville in Rusk County.  He is employed by Texas Eastman Company, Longview, Texas.  Byron married Peggy Jean Sanders May 27, 1960.  She was born March 20, 1936 at Roquemore.  She is the daughter of Audrey and Nadine Dorsey Sanders.  Peggy Jean is a hair stylist and a busy housewife.  The couple has one son, James Byron, Jr., born October 31, 1963 in Henderson; and one daughter, Pamela Jean, born June 26, 1967 in Henderson.  Both families are members of the First Baptist Church of Henderson.

My father was Charles Leon Deason who was born November 7, 1877, and died August 19, 1968.  His parents were Dr. Timothy and Margaret Jane Welch Deason of Brachfield.  My mother, Willie Osborn, born January 5, 1887, was the daughter of Tom W. and Emily Ann Griffith Osborn.  She died November 8, 1965.  I was the oldest child of six children, three sons and three daughters.
