Mack Norvell Brown, a son of Robert Taylor Brown and Sarah Norvell Brown was born in Henderson, March 21, 1909 and has lived in Rusk County his entire life except the four years he spent away during World War II.

At one time or another Mack N. Brown was a pharmacist at the four downtown drug stores, and after thirty-six years as a registered pharmacist he sold his interest in Haden-Brown Drug Store to Ivan B. Willard, and that store is now known as Willard-Strong Pharmacy.

Mack N. Brown married Catherine Canon, of Jacksonville, Cherokee County, Texas, May 21, 1940; and they have two sons, Robert Canon Brown and Ross Norvell Brown.

Prior to her marriage, Catherine Brown passed the State Bar of Texas and was licensed to practice law, but chose rather to stay close to home and has worked in related fields since that time.

Since the early 1970’s the Mack Browns have shared their home with several foster children and at this time are licensed Foster Parents of the State of Texas.

At the present time Mack N. Brown works extra as a relief pharmacist in the Rusk County area, and Catherine is using her skills in the oil industry.

The Mack Browns have four grandchildren: Joshua Canon, son of Robert; Robert M.; Katherine Leona; and Ann Marie, children of Ross.
