Parker & Sons, 1916, Beckville, Panola Co. Tx

I am not quite sure when the Parker Store began, but I do know that first there was Napoleon Parker. Later Napoleon's son, Linus, took over running the store and then, Linus's son Brinson Parker. I believe that the store close about 1976, I can remember going in there and buying things. The floors were wood and the wall was lined with wooden shelves.

I was lucky when my son in law brought me what he had found. A ledger book of accounts and suppliers for the year 1916 from the Parker Store.

Talk about one stop shopping, this store had everything that a person would need. The Parkers were even responsible for accepting insurance payment. They had thread, material, groceries, saddlery, nails, seeds, tobacco and would on occasion even loan money.

Below is a list of people who had charge accounts for the year 1916. Some of the names may be duplicate, but perhaps that is because they had more than one account. Also I have a list of Suppliers, some I am sure you will recognize.
