Be it remembered that the County Court of Panola County Pertaining to Roads & Revenue was begun and held at the Court House in the Town of Carthage on the first Monday in January 1861, it being the 7th day thereof. Present and presiding Hon. Drury Field Chief Justice, P. M. Harrison, H. G. Roquemore & A.D. Irwin J. Cherry, Sheriff & James M. Ramsey, Clerk. Court being opened by said Sheriff proceeded to pass the following Orders to Wit;
Ordered by the Court that the following named persons be Selected to Serve as Grand Jurors for the County of Panola at the Spring Term 1861.

Ordered by the Court that the plan and specification drafted by W. D. Ragland, J. B. Russet, R.A. Craig for a jail for the use of the County of Panola be adopted by the Court and that the Chief Justice be authorized to advertise for bids for the Building the same which will be received up to the 16th 1st.
Ordered by the Court that A.D. Irwin be appointed agent for the County to have the arches over the doors in the Court House repaired.

Ordered by the Court that the account of W. H. Watson for thirty three 78/100 Dollars be allowed and the Chief Justice be authorized to draft for the same.
Ordered by the Court that the account of H. Smith for twenty three Dollars less 30 cents be allowed and the Chief Justice be authorized to draft for the same.
Ordered by the Court that the account of J.W. Alexander for three 75/100 Dollars be allowed and the Chief Justice be authorized to draft for the same.
Ordered by the Court that the account of Chatham & Williamson for seven 25/100 Dollars be allowed and the Chief Justice be authorized to draft for the same.
Ordered by the Court that Drury Field Chief Justice, P.M. Harrison, A.D. Irwin and H. G. Roquemore each be allowed three Dollars for holding Court January Term 1861.
Ordered by the Court that H. G. Roquemore County Com. be allowed three Dollars for one days Services as Co. Com. Nov. Term 1860.
Ordered that Court adjourn until it next regular term.

Be it remembered that the County Court of Panola County Pertaining to Roads and Revenues was begun and held at the Court House in the Town of Carthage on the 19th day of August 1861. Present and presiding Ho. Drury Field, Chief Justice, P. M. Harrison, C. Crenshaw and W.D. Ragland, Co. Commissioners, J. Cherry Sheriff, J. M. Ramsey Co. Clerk. Court being open by said Sheriff proceeded to pass the following Orders to Wit;

Now comes Hooker & Sons and makes application to the Court to establish a Public Ferry across the Sabine River at Hooker & Sons Mill and having shown to the Court that they were the owners of the land on the West side of Bank and had the permission of G. Cash the owner of the land on the East Side of Bank opposite the said Ferry. It is therefore ordered that the Said Hooker & Sons have permission to Keep a Ferry boat at the Said Ferry and the same be established as a Public Ferry.
Ordered by the court that there be assessed and collected of the Keeper of the Ferry at Hooker & Sons Ferry across the Sabine River one dollar for the year 1861 and that License issued to the Said Hooker & Sons upon their given bond in the sum of Five Thousand Dollars Payable to the Chief Justice condition pertaining to law and it is further ordered that the rates of charges for ferriage shall be as follows. To Wit; Footman 5 cts. Man and horse 10 cts. --- Horse buggy 30/c. 2 horse or oxen do 25/c, 4 horse or 12 oxen 50/c, all over 4 5cts a head each additional head or Team loose horse or oxen 5 cts. Cattle 5 cts a head, Hogs, sheep and goats 2 cts a head and when the boat leaves the Channell double the above-------?
Now came B. G. Hooker and J.C. Soape Reviewers appointed to review the Road from Hookers Mill to intersect the Carthage & Shelbyville and makes the following Report. To Wit; that they had reviewed and marked the Said proposed road commencing at Hookers & Sons Mill at the river Bank thence South West to the --------- ----------- thence to the Carthage and Shelbyville Road near Mrs. E. Soape residence and the same being considered of by this court—it appearing to the court—correct and in accordance with law.

Be it Remembered that the County Court of Panola Pertaining to Roads & Revenue was Begun and held at the Court house in the Town of Carthage on the 17th day of February 1862. Present and presiding Hon. D. Fields, Chief Justice, P.M. Harrison C. Crenshaw, W.D. Ragland County Commissioners, Jas. Cherry Sheriff and J.M. Ramsey Co. Clk. Court being opened by said sheriff proceeded to pass the following order.
Ordered by the Court that there be assessed and collected from The Keepers of the Ferry at Grand Bluff the sum of fifty Dollars and that the clerk issue to the said Keepers D.M. Dawter upon his given Bond in the sum five Thousand Dollars.
Ordered by the Court that there be assessed & collected of the Keeper of the Ferry at Elliotts Ferry on the Sabine river fifty Dollars for the year 1862 and that license issue to the Said Keeper upon their given bond in the sum of five thousand Dollars.
Ordered by the Court that there be assessed & collected of James Chatham the Keeper of the Ferry at Pulaski five Dollars for the year 1862 and that license given to him upon his giving bond in the sum of five thousand Dollars.
Ordered by the Court that there be assessed & collected of S. C. Hooker the Keeper of the Ferry on the Sabine River at Hookers Mill for the year 1862 and that license issued to him upon his giving bond in the sum of five thousand Dollars.

Now comes G. Cask, W. A. Lagrone & Wm. Grisham-----appointed to make out a Road leading from Hookers Steam Mill on Sabine River to the Bridge on the ?League Creek and make there report and the Said Report being considered by the Court & approved and that the Said Road be established as a Public Road.
Now comes John Baker and other citizens of Panola County. A pray the Court to grant them an order to change the Pulaski & Keachie Road and after consideration of said application by the Court, it was ordered that the Said Petition be granted and that the said road by changed as follows: Viz to leave the old road at the corner of John Bakers Field thence due East to intersect this old road at the State line.

Ordered by the Court that the account of J.M. Ramsey for Twenty five Dollars be allowed and the Chief Justice is hereby authorized to Draft for the Same.
Ordered by the Court that Drury Field Chief Justice, C. Crenshaw & R. A. Craig, Co. Com., be allowed Each Six Dollars & P. M. Harrison, Co. Com., be allowed three Dollalrs for holding County Court May Term be allowed and the Chief Justice authorized to Draft for the same.
Ordered by the Court that the account of T. D. Simpson for One Dollar for 1 days Service as Guard Prisoner J. J. Yarborough be allowed and the Chief Justice authorize to Draft for the same.
Ordered by the Court that James Terry be appointed Capt of a patrol Detachment in Beat No. 5 and that he have the following named persons to serve as privates in Said Detachment. To Wit: Joseph Westmoreland. F. M. Campbell. Wiley Hill, William Weathington, Thos. Taylor, E. Stanghler, R. D. Haynes and J. Ivy.
Ordered that Court adjourn until its next regular Term.
