I copied the Hawthorn Funeral Home Records as they were reported.  I did not find Judge Robert Warner Priest buried in the Clayton Cemetery nor the IOOF Cemetery.   I walked both of these cemeteries and I can make mistakes.   (Gloria B. Mayfield)

6-12-1857 This should be June 10, 1857, Africa, probably Ijaye, Liberia (now Nigeria). Source, Diary of Robert William Priest, Southern Baptist missionary to Africa 1856-1859, He notes the birth of his son Robert Warner on this day in his diary.

Robert W. (AL) Clara Muner? (Oh)  This should be Robert William Priest, born two miles east of Moulton, AL. Source Letter to Foreign Mission Board written from the Bark Hermitage on voyage to Africa, and Clarena Elizabeth Warner (Oh).

The obits for Robert Warner and Mary Hodges Priest were transcribed by Carthage High School Teacher Ann Morris and United States History students and published in “Obituaries Recorded in Panola County Texas 1921-1935” (Mary L Priest is on page 99) and “Obituaries Recorded in Panola County Texas 1936-1949” ( Robert Warner Priest is on page 69).  The Mary Hodges transcription is from a newspaper article dated Mar. 26, 1930 and the Judge Robert Warner Priest transcription is from a newspaper dated April 30, 1942.
