William Person : Deed
To: Mary A. Person
Know all men by these presents that I, William T. Person of the County of Panola and State of Texas have this day bargained and sold to my wife Mary A. Person of the State and County aforesaid all the rights, titles, claims and interests I have in and to an Estate of my Father, William Person, deceased, in and late of Shelby County, Tennessee, leaving an Estate real and personal to be divided between his distributees which property now is and ever remain in the hands of my Mother Susan Fisk of Shelby County, Tennessee and is to remain until her death, when aforesaid property is to be divided between the Heirs at Law. Now know all men that I, William T. Person, have this day bargained and sold all of my interest in and to my Fathers Estate above described to my wife Mary A. Person for and in consideration of her having consented to let me sell her Negro boy, her separate property, and use the same as common property. In consideration of which I do give, grant, bargain, sell and convey all my right, title, claims and interest in and to the above Estate, be the same more or less to he held by her in her own right and as her separate property and I do warrant and defend the same in person and by my legal representatives both in law and equity forever given render my hand and seal (using a scrawl for a seal), this June AD 1853.

Personally appeared before the undersigned authority Alfred Morris one of the subscribing witnesses to the deed and being duly sworn deposes and says that he and William T. Person whose name appears to the said deed as the grantor thereof, acknowledge the same to be executed for the uses and purposes therein contained and that he and S.A. Morris signed the same as witnesses at the request of the said Person. Given under my hand and seal of office this the 29th day of October, AD 1853.
