Kathy Hiebert
Kathy Hiebert, our precious wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend went home to be with her Savior, on July 3, 2008. Her short 43 years were filled with love, service, music, laughter, passionate love for her children, and concern for others. Kathy was always thinking about how she could make the lives around her more pleasant and comfortable. As her son, Nick, said, "She was always doing things for people before they even asked." Kathy was born Esther Katherine Pitts on August 27, 1964. She is survived by her husband, Todd; children: Nicholas, Haden, Brett, Brooke, and Drew Hiebert; parents: Elmer and Edna Pitts; siblings and families: Gayla, Loyd, Amy, and Emily King; Debbi, Stanley, Victoria, and Alexandra Oakes; Joy, Blake, and Morgan Burnard; Michael, Crystal, Baker, Sara, Ellie, and Jon David Pitts; father and mother-in-law: Bryan and Bobbie Hiebert; siblings and families: Scott Hiebert; Ray, Julie, Madylin, and Bryan Cotta. Kathy spent much of her time involved in the activities of her children...basketball, baseball, piano lessons, and school functions. She was the family social coordinator; the organizer for the annual family beach vacation; and the friend who knew how to plan and throw a beautiful party! Todd and Kathy have been through several challenging years with the illnesses and bone-marrow transplants of their twins, Brett and Brooke. A Bible verse that their family has held special in their hearts has been Jeremiah 29:11, "'For I know the plans I have for you,¹ declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.¹" (NIV) Kathy was a beautiful person. Her life was filled with music and service to others, and there are many ways we can remember her loving spirit. Not the least being: caring for her husband and children; showing love to her mom and her dad; volunteering at a school; giving blood at the blood bank; cooking for someone who needs a hot meal; providing something for a child in need. Kathy loved her family passionately, and her leaving has left a hole in our hearts that cannot be filled. A celebration of Kathy¹s life will be held at First Church of the Nazarene, in Nacogdoches, Texas, on Monday, July 7, at 2:00 P.M. Visitation of family and friends will be at Laird Funeral Home, on Sunday, July 6, 5:00-7:00 PM. An educational fund will be established for Kathy¹s five children at Bancorp South.
