     The annual Junior-Senior banquet was given in the dining room of the Junior High School Friday evening, April 24th.    This was a gala occasion from both Juniors and Seniors, an event to which the Seniors have looked forward all year. The girls were beautifully gowned in satins, taffettas, and organdies, that gave no hint that they had been exposed to rain.       From the reception room the guests marched into the dining hall which presented a colorful and beautiful scene, one which will long be remembered by both hosts and guests. The decorations were in orchid and green, the senior class colors. This scheme was carried out in detail, even in the appointments and the dainty food served.      The following program was carried out with C. T. Heath as toast master:

At last the great document has been uncovered
That will burst once for all the great blowing bubble.
We can not help what fate will demand,
For he is the guide and runs the great strand.
And this he has written from beginning to end,
And places upon it his own seal;
First to lead the list of honor and fame,
And win the title of “king of “names”
Will be our pastor and guide of all
No other that our own class-mate, John Ross.
Deason, Lawrence, and Willbyrn a partnership shall form,
As the minds of the three so nearly conform.
And this partnership, let no man put asunder,
For as fishermen-three they will be the ninth wonder.

dothouse.gif (1473 bytes) ... The year 1930-31 has seen the last of the journey to be made by this sturdy band. They now call themselves Seniors and have as their leader Sir Deason of the House of Hunt.
Many worthy deeds have been done by this band. Led by Lady Martha of the House of McCarter, the Crusaders fought to rout the Pagan King Tuberculosis in the sale of Easter seals.  With Sir Earl and Sir John Ross of the House of Adams in the front, the next attack was made on the city of Athletics. Before these courageous Crusaders all enemies fell, even to the greatest, the Giant Longview. The heroes of the field were the knights: Sir Vernon of the House of Dunklin, Sir George of the House of Strong, Sir Cecil of the House of Arnold, Sir Thomas of the House of Drennan, and Sir Russle of the House of Haskins.  After conquering that dreaded enemy, Mid-term Exams, The Crusaders marched bravely forward and now they stand before the gates of the citadel, eager to make the final attack and enter that coveted land, the City of Graduation, with victories many and casualties few
