I was born September 12, 1921 in Mt. Enterprise, Texas. My parents were Ernest Armine Green (1896-1945) and Beulah Blanch Matlock (1899-1972). I have three brothers—Armine Rex Green, E. Ray Green, and Allen Burke Green.
I am married to Eugene Aristide Tauzin. We have two sons, one daughter, and six grandchildren.
Richard Raymon Tauzin, our first son, was born in Henderson, Texas, July 15, 1943. He married Sharla Gail Bratcher, March 28, 1964. They have two daughters: Traci Lynne, born July 3, 1965 in Dallas, Texas and Tami Gene, born June 1, 1966 in Dallas, Texas. "Rick" is a lieutenant with the Garland Fire Department and is owner of Code Three Couriers.
Sheran Belle Tauzin McKee, our only daughter, born March 21, 1947 in Henderson, Texas, married Franklin James McKee, February 17, 1968. They have two daughters: Katerine Gwen born February 10, 1970 in San Mateo, California; and Meredith Belle, born April 14, 1975 in Dallas, Texas. Sherri is office manager for Russell Reynolds and Associates in Dallas.
Robert Armine Tauzin, our younger son, born March 20, 1949 in Beaumont, Texas, is shop foreman for Mechanical Sheet Metals, Inc. in Dallas. He married Toni Lynn Deets, December 21, 1973. They have two sons; Robert Armine III, born February 22, 1975 in Garland, Texas; and Clayton Aristide, born January 28, 1977 in Garland, Texas.
I’ve been a realtor for twenty-three years and own Gwen Tauzin Realtors, Property Management. I’m the only realtor in the Dallas Metroplex area who deals exclusively in rental and leasing of single family residences. I service well over six hundred properties.
I’m past Regent of Colonel George Mason Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution and am presently State DAR Public Relations Chairman District III. I’m also a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Garland Board of Realtors, State and National Associations of Realtors, Bud and Blossom Club of which I am a past president, Garland Garden Forum, Dallas Garden Forum, Order of the Eastern Star No. 156, Garland Women’s Activities Building of which I am secretary and director, Creative Stitchery Group and Club 25. My memberships in Daughters of 1812 and Colonial Dames are pending.
My hobbies are needlepoint and ballroom dancing. I have original needlepoint pictures throughout our home and office. I’m now working on an 18 inch by 24-inch canvas of our home, painted by a local artist. My only problem is which of our grandchildren will fall heir to this picture. I’ve made several needlepoint pictures for our grandchildren. I wonder what their children and grandchildren will think when they see them. Each time I finish an exceptional piece, I think, " This will be an heirloom someday."
We always make birthdays "special days" and enjoy being together. My happiest moments are those when our family comes together for birthday, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.
