George and Allie Keeling have been married more than sixty-two years and live near Shiloh and Brachfield communities, a short distance from the places where each was born. George celebrated his ninetieth birthday September 6, 1981, with a host of relatives and friends who dropped in to visit and to wish him a happy birthday.
George and Allie have enjoyed their lives on the farm, which demanded much of them and their family of three boys and four girls. Most of the family’s needs were met by what the land and hard work could produce. Cows were milked, large hogs were fed, and many food crops were tended. George and Allie always canned six or seven hundred quarts of fruits and vegetables each year, and corn was taken to the gristmill to be ground for making bread. Cream, eggs, and chickens were sold to supplement the family income. They operated a country store in the community for ten years.
George was a graduate of Dallas Metropolitan Business College in 1915, and he and Allie saw that each of their children finished high school and attended college.
George was born September 6, 1891 to William Briley (born January 1, 1857) and Atwood (Attie) Clinton Keeling (born February 19, 1860).
Allie Fair, born February 14, 1901, is a daughter of James Thomas (born July 15, 1879) and Mary Ann Cadenhead (born March 21, 1876). Allie’s grandparents were George Allen and Jeffie Johnson Cadenhead and Cary and Minerva Wallace.

Their five children are: Harlew, Marlue, Gordon, Debbie, and Cindy. Weldon served more than four years in the army during World War II, seeing action in Europe.
The second son of George and Allie was Robert Thomas, born August 23, 1921, who married Lucille Magee (now deceased). Their children are: Ronald Earl (deceased), Gloria, and Bobbie. Robert also saw action in Europe with the army during World War II, serving four years.
The third son, George Brown, born January 15, 1928, served in the occupation army in Japan after World War II. He married Joan Sim, and their children are Kathleen and Carol.
