Allen Burke Green of Henderson, Texas was born October 28, 1927 in Henderson, the son of Ernest Armine Green (1895-1945) and Beulah Blanche Matlock (1899-1972). He has two brothers and one sister: Armine Rex Green, Kilgore; E. Ray Green, Dallas; and Eldred Gwendolyn Green Tauzin (Mrs. Eugene Arstide Tauzin), Garland, Texas.

Allen Burke attended the Henderson schools and graduated in 1947. He graduated from Tyler Commercial College of Accounting in Tyler. He began working for a local Ford automobile dealer in 1949 through 1967 as office manager and then as sales manager. He was a member of the National Guard 49th Division for over fourteen years, during which time the division was called up for active duty. He was sent to Fort Polk, Louisiana. He was honorably discharged at the rank of First Lieutenant. He has been associated with the Manufactured Housing Industry in sales since 1968 and is now employed by Cross & Sons, Incorporated, Henderson.

Shirley Ann Florey, daughter of Frank Hewitt Florey and Louise Taylor Florey, became Allen Burke’s wife on May 17, 1953. They have two daughters: Ruth Anne, born June 24, 1956; and Rebecca Jane, born March 28, 1959.

Ruth Anne married Jerry Wayne Camp on July 22, 1978; and they have one daughter, Carol Ann Camp, born July 27, 1981. Rebecca Jane married John Roger Dickerson on August 6, 1977, and they have one daughter Christina Michelle Dickerson, born April 14, 1978.
