EDWIN CLARK

Alfred Clark was born in the state of New York on June 14, 1819. He married Luthania Dickerman in Iowa and later moved to Oil City, Pennsylvania, then to Ashley, Illinois.

Alfred was killed while in the service of the Union Army in Arkansas and is buried at Fort Smith in that state.

Two sons, Harvey and Alvah Lucas, were born to Alfred and Luthania. Alvah L. came from West Point Military Academy to Gainesville, Texas in 1870, where he met and married Eleanor Hayden. They later moved to Henderson, where he became engaged in the lumber industry.

Alvah and Eleanor reared eleven children. Clarence married Antoinette Turner, and their seven children were: Turner, Eleanor, Lurene, Lois, Belva, Alysee, and Clarence. Lula married Luther H. Evans, and their six children were Alfred, Raymond, L. H., Elmer, Bell and Winnie. Harvey Arthur (Moxie) married Nannie Leona Neeley, and their seven children were: Louis H. Marvelle, Irma Lee, Harvey A., Edwin Burl, Edna Earle, and Hayden Neeley. Young Carlton married Gladys Beard, and their two sons were Perry and Douglas. Alvah George married Helen Moore, and their child was Mary Margaret. Winnie married George McIlvaine and had no children. Malcolm E. married Irma Quinney, and their three children were: Malcolm E. Jr., George Quinney, and Irma Louise. Hubert married Onie Schriber and had no children. Herman married Grace Burke and had no children. Mary married Elven L. Whitten and had one child, Bobby. Russell married Norma Davis and their two children were Mary Frances and Norma Jean.

Harvey and Edwin are the only living sons of this Clark family in Rusk County at this time.
