BEALL FAMILY
The following bio was taken from page 106 of the book entitled "Rusk County History" compiled and edited and used with permission of the Rusk County Historical Commission.

These are the generations of Francis Marion Beall who came to Rusk County, Texas in 1852.
"Alexander Bell with Margaret Ramsey, both of this Citie, married 21st May 1646." This was in St. Andrews Parish, Fife County, Scotland. Their children were William, James, Andrew, and Alexander Bell. It is not known whether the parents came to America.
Alexander Bell: Parochial register of St. Andrews records the birth of Alexander Bell, "1649, 11 October, Alex. Bell and Margaret Ramsey had one son called Alexr." He reached America in 1666, changed the spelling of his name to Beall, and obtained land in now Prince George County, Maryland. He married Elizabeth Coombes. He died in 1744. They had five children, including John Beall.
John Beall (1688-1742) was one of the founders of Beall Town, Maryland, later named Blandensburg. He married Verlinda Magruder in 1712 and they had ten children, including Josiah Beall and Samuel Beall.
Josiah Beall (1717-1742) helped lay out the town of George Town, Prince George County, Maryland. The name of his wife is not yet known. They had nine children (including Thaddeus Beall).
Samuel Beall (1713-1777) had property in Prince George, Frederick and Washington Counties. He died in Washington County. He married Eleanor Brooke (1718-1785) on May 23, 1734 in Prince George County, Maryland. He was referred to as a Colonel from 1761-1777. They had thirteen children. A daughter, Amelia, married her first cousin, Thaddeus Beall.
Thaddeus Beall (1747-1808), born Prince George County, Maryland, later Frederick County, married Amelia Jane Beall (1747-after 1809) about 1767. Major Thaddeus Beall served in the Continental Army throughout the American Revolution.
After more than one hundred years in Maryland the Bealls joined the great westward movement. Their first stop was Guilford County, North Carolina (1779-1791), where Thaddeus owned some 2000 acres of land and slaves. The Bealls had thirteen children, Thaddeus II being the seventh. The family was in Georgia by 1800.
Thaddeus Beall II (1780-1867), born in North Carolina, moved with his family to Green County, Georgia (later the part made into Hancock County), then into Warren County, Georgia where the senior Thaddeus Beall died. Thaddeus Beall II married Mary Walker Jones in Columbia County, Georgia on January 26, 1805. They were living in Morgan County, Georgia in 1820, Walton County in 1830, and in Chambers County, Alabama in 1840, 1850,1860, and Mary Beall in 1870. The Bealls had eleven children, five of whom came to Rusk County, Texas. These were Augustus Romaldus, Francis Marion, Amelia Sophromia Beall Alford, America Avaleen Beall Wascom, and Laura Beall Holt.
Francis Marion Beall (1812-1894) was born in Warren County, Georgia and made the migration west with his parents, then with his family. He married Sidney Elizabeth Shephard in Chambers County, Alabama on June 18, 1839 but is listed on the 1840 census of Fayette County, Georgia. By 1850 they were in Chambers County, Alabama, and by1852 in Rusk County, Texas in the community of Chalk Hill. All of the Beall children were in Rusk County with them, five born here. Their children were Marion A., who married Dave S. Weatherly, Egbert Orlando, who was a private in the 14th Cavalry, Texas and was never heard of after the Civil War. William Francis Beall married Ellen Spears; Martha E. married Charles Oliver, Thaddeus Solon never married. Robert Augustus married Ida Jane Peek; Walter Colquit married Alice Carlisle; Mary S. married Raymond H. Carrell; and Egbert Orlando (named for his brother) married Margaret Ann Weatherly – all in Rusk County. Francis Marion and Sidney Elizabeth Beall are buried in the Wright Cemetery located between Henderson and Tatum, Texas.
Robert Augustus Beall (1855-1900) was born in Rusk County and lived in the Chalk Hill Community. He had a minimum education in the one-room school house of that day, and all of his children received an average education. His wife, Ida Jane Peek, was from Polk County, Georgia and had an excellent education. They were married in Rusk County on February 19, 1879. They had a good farm and a nice home, but in 1898 Mr. Beall moved his family to Hunt County to continue farming. In 1900 he died of diphtheria. His family moved back to Rusk County in the Oak Hill community and spent a bleak year there. They then moved into Henderson so the sons could work for "Kinfolks". Robert and Ida Jane are buried in the Providence Cemetery in Rusk County. Robert and Ida Jane had seven children.
Mary Ethel Beall married George Seaborn Strong in 1897 and lived in Henderson. He had a grocery business. They are buried in the City Cemetery in Henderson. They had three daughters – Lola Beall Ida Lavenia, and Mary Ethel.
Emmie Beall married Arthur Adolphus Crabb in Hunt County in 1900. Their children are Maurine, Robert Calloway, and Irma Lucille. Emmie and Arthur Crabb are buried in the Lakewood Memorial Cemetery in Henderson.
Felix Wascom Beall married Alice Maude Price in Henderson in 1903, and he was a prosperous farmer of the area. They are buried in Lakewood Memorial Cemetery. Their children are Weber Wesley, Ethel Lorine, Annie Dee, and two deceased children, Hiram Jasper and Robbie Jim.
Della Lucille Beall married John Thomas Maloney in Rusk County in 1907, and they lived most of their lives in the Oak Hill community. Their children are Irma Lucille and Idaleen. He owned a general store in Oak Hill. Mr. And Mrs. Maloney are buried in the cemetery at the Methodist Church in Oak Hill.
Archie Augustus Beall married Harriett Ellen Wright in Rusk County in 1909. He was one of the founders of the 3 Beall Brothers 3 Department Stores, which had their beginning in Henderson. He was vice-president of the firm. They are buried in the City Cemetery of Henderson. Their children are: Memory Franklin, deceased, Harris Bailey and Mary Ellen.
Willie Francis Beall married Elmina Wallace in Minden, Texas in 1914. He was one of the founders of 3 Beall Brothers 3 and its first president. He was also a founder of the W. F. Beall Corporation of Louisiana. Their children are Ruby Lee, Francis Florine, and Sarah Ellen. Mr. Beall is buried in Resthaven Memorial Cemetery in Jacksonville, Texas.
Robbie Beall married Willie Eurenie Webb in 1922 in Henderson, Texas. He was also a founder of 3 Beall Brothers 3, Vice-president and Chairman of the Board of Bealls. Their children are: Robbie Grafton, deceased, and second president of Bealls; Royce Milton, present president of Bealls; Ray Wilson, Vice-president of Bealls; Mary Nelwin, deceased; and Billie Sue. Mr. And Mrs. Beall are buried in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Nacogdoches, Texas.
