Jim Cadenhead’s parents came to Rusk County from Georgia as did many of his neighbors and friends who now live in the Shiloh and Brachfield communities. Jim and his wife, Mary Ann (Molly), were the parents of seven children, two of whom were born in the house pictured above. The house was completed in August 1900 and was built by E.G. Whitmire of Jumbo, Texas. It was located in the Shiloh Community near Mt. Enterprise and was built for the Will Hudgins family. Through the years it had many owners until it was sold and moved off the land by a neighbor, Sam Patrick, in 1943. Seven children were born to Jim and Molly. Their daughter, Allie Fair, married George Keeling (See their story). Evie Thelma married Joe Clinton, and they had two sons, Joe Everett (deceased) and John Wallace. Ethel Dean married Henry Grady Locke. They had one son, James Henry, and an adopted daughter, Annabelle Locke Sampson (deceased). Robert Veron married Opal Murray and their two children are Peggy Jean Harris and Jimmy Norman. Vernon is now a retired farmer. He worked as a pipe fitter in defense plants during World War II. Clara married Harvey Allen Fears and their three children are Norris Allen, Harvey Lynn and Elizabeth Fears Cashell. Fletcher B. married Pauline Smith and they have two children, Fletcher B., Jr. and Paula Jaundice. Fletcher worked for the County Commissioners for a number of years and is now a retired farmer. Mary married Herman Hudson. Their story is told elsewhere in this book. Written by Mary Hudson
