Woodie Bechtold Adams 

OVERTON - Woodie Bechtold Adams, 90, of Overton was born Oct. 
31, 1913, in Hallsville. She passed away Monday, June 7, 2004, 
in Tyler. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 
years, John Ross Adams. They were co-owners of Adams Clothing 
Store for 40 years and were very active in the First United 
Methodist Church of Overton. 

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Adams Bailey of 
Austin, and one son, John L. Adams of Dallas and his wife, 
Susie. She also leaves seven adored grandchildren, Brad 
Bailey, Blake Bailey, Amanda Bailey, John Ross Adams, Elise 
Adams Harper, Douglas Thomas and Michael Thomas. She is also 
survived by two great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Bailey and 
Savoy Blake Bailey, and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers are grandsons and other family members. 

Mrs. Adams went home to be with her Lord and Savior and to be 
reunited with her husband. She was loved by all and will be 
greatly missed. 

Visitation is scheduled 4-6 p.m. today, June 9, at Burrows 
Funeral Home in Overton. 

Memorial services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, June 10, 
at the First United Methodist Church of Overton. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to 
the First United Methodist Church of Overton, c/o the John and
