11/16/2004, Tuesday Obituaries The Daily Sentinel, Nacogdoches Melba Ruth Miller Adams Melba Ruth Miller Adams, 67, of Newton, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, November 15, 2004, after a lengthy illness. Melba was born on March 24,1928. She was a native of Burkeville, Texas, and a long-time resident of Newton. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, at First Baptist Church in Newton. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Newton. Melba is survived by her husband of 53 years, Clyde E. Adams, Sr.; daughters Judy Walker and husband, Jeff, Jana Snowden and husband, Jim, Terri Wills, Tammy Marshall and husband, Brad, all of Newton, daughter, Cathy Marberry and husband, Rick, of Lufkin; son, Clyde Adams Jr. and wife, Tiffany of Sugar Land; grandchildren, Jeffrey Walker Jr. and wife, Charlotte, Carl Walker and wife, Susan, Scott Walker and wife, Jennifer, Laurie, Michael and Natalie Snowden, Ashley and Reid Wills, Zachary Marberry, Cason and Katelyn Marshall and Victoria and Nicholas Adams; and one great-grandchild, Caitlyn Proffit. She is also survived by two sisters, Winifred Bailey of Jasper and Robbie See of Louisa, Kentucky; two brothers, Ted Miller and wife, Carolyn, of Little Cypress, and Charles Miller and wife, Laurie, of San Antonio; and brother and sister-in-law, Charles Neal and Faye Adams of Newton; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends. Melba is preceded in death by her parents, Teddy and Evalena Miller, her grandson, Adam Lee Wills, her sister-in-law, Nancy Price and brothers-in-law, Howard See, Walter L. "Bo" Bailey and Charlie Price. Melba's cheerful attitude throughout her courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis inspired all who knew her. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. "Moosie" will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
