Obituaries March 11, 2004 Longview News-Journal Roland Adams Sunset MP, Gilmer GILMER - Services for Roland Adams, 76, of Gilmer are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2004, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park with Brother Mike Cook officiating. Mr. Adams died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, in Gilmer. Roland was born Oct. 13, 1927, in Upshur County to Henry Lee and Opal Wade Adams. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Adams retired from Lone Star Steel as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a lifetime resident of Gilmer. Roland is survived by his wife, Marguerite Grider Adams, and children, Tammie and Sam High, all of Gilmer; his grandchildren, Wesley Arrington, Brook Arrington, Summer High and Lori McKnight; special family and friends Lynn and Karen Nobles, Rex and Belinda Parrott, Nelda Camp and Rod and Ginger Parrott; and his aunt, Kathleen Wade. Pallbearers are Bobby Fletcher, Paul Hall, Louis Wayne Clark, Pat Camp, Caroll Massoletti and Robert Stracener. Honorary pallbearers are Jim White, Jerry Howell and Wilton Despain. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today, March 11, at the funeral home.
