"Tony" Allen, 78, of Beckville, will be held at 1 p.m. Dec. 2, 2004 at Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Rusk County under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. He died Nov. 29 in Shreveport, LA Born Edward Hulan Allen on May 16, 1926 in Idabell, Okla., he was the son of Ed Vernon and Daisey Allen. He served his country as a veteran through the U.W. Army. Edward married Pearlie Mae White in 1953 and they celebrated 50 years of marriage. He worked as a truck driver retiring from Central Freight Lines. Edward was preceded in death y his sons, William Edward and Danny Lee Allen. Survivors include his wife, Pearlie Allen, of Longview; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Haley, of Longview, Edward Hulan and Rugh Allen, of Gilmer, Tommy Wayne and Michelle Allen of Harleton, Ronny Vernon Allen, of Beckville, and Donny Ray and Annette Allen, of Gilmer; sister Sally Clardy, of Ft. Worth; 13 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a host of friends. On Dec. 1, the body will lie in state at 6 p.m., and family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
