Graveside services for Alton Leonard Almand Sr., 89, of 
Waskom, formerly of Zachary, La., will be 3 p.m. today at 
Milldale Baptist Church Cemetery in Zachary with Bro. Danny 
Gregg and Bro. Jimmy Robertson officiating. Arrangements are 
by Meadowbrook Funeral Home in Marshall. 

Mr. Almand died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, in Marshall. He was 
born April 9, 1915, in Independence, La., to Mr. Almand and 
Julia Packwood Almand. He was a self-employed building 
contractor. He married Dorothy Lee Nelson on July 12, 1925, in 
Baton Rouge, La. 

Mr. Almand is survived by one son, Billy R. Almand of Waskom; 
one daughter, Susan D. Ruben of Zachary; nine grandchildren, 
16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; two 
sisters, Lucille Lalumandier and Doris Jackson, both of Baton 
Rouge; and other relatives.
