Elaine Alston

Elaine Alston, 76, of Longview passed from this life on 
Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004. She was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Odell. 
Mrs. Alston was a resident of Longview for more than 50 years. 
A licensed vocational nurse, Mrs. Alston worked for Good 
Shepherd Medical Center, Dr. John Vaughn and various skilled 
nursing centers over the years. She was a member of the 
Macedonia Baptist Church and enjoyed camping as well as most 
outdoor activities. On Jan. 30, 1948, she married her beloved 
husband of 56 years, David C. Alston, in Longview. 

Among her survivors are her husband, David C. Alston of 
Longview; three sons, David Alston Jr. and his wife, Sophie, 
of Hallsville, Michael Alston of Longview and Dennis Alston 
and his wife, Robin, of Hallsville; one sister, Wanda Edwards 
of Paris; one brother, W.J. Pritchett Jr.; four grandchildren; 
and five great-grandchildren. 

Services will be held at 10 a.m, Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Lakeview 
Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Lakeview 
Memorial Gardens under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home. 

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today, Feb. 9, at the 
funeral home.
