Syble Virginia Allen 
LaGrone Chapel Cemetery

Services for Syble Virginia Allen, 85, of Lewisville, formerly 
of Longview, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, 
at the Welch Funeral & Memorial Center Chapel with the Rev. 
Jace Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in LaGrone Chapel 
Cemetery. Mrs. Allen died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, in a 
Lewisville hospital. 

Mrs. Allen was born Oct. 28, 1918, to Jess Andrew and Becky 
Lou Huffman Ponder in Longview. She was preceded in death by 
her husband, R.P. Allen, in 1987. 

Mrs. Allen is survived by her daughter, Vanice Scroggins of 
Lewisville; her granddaughter, Elaine Jeffcoat, and 
great-granddaughter, Haley McMullin, both of Arlington; a 
sister and brother-in-law, Billie and George Roberts of 
Longview; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

The family requests that memorials be made to the Arthritis 
Foundation, 4300 MacArthur, Suite 245, Dallas, TX 75209-6524. 

Mrs. Allen will be missed for the love and devotion that she 
gave to her family in her lifetime.
