12/20/2003 Obituaries The Daily Sentinel Frances Akin Sunset MP, Nacogdoches Funeral for Frances Akin, 81, of San Augustine will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, San Augustine, with the Rev. Rick Russell and the Rev. Fred Willis officiating. Graveside service will be at 4 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Park, Nacogdoches. Akin died Dec. 18, 2003, in San Augustine County. Born Aug. 21, 1921, in San Augustine, she was the daughter of Fairley Lee and Edna Kendrick. She was retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture - Soil Conservation. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of San Augustine and of the San Augustine Bridge Club. Survivors include sons, Steve Herman of Pittsburg, Max Akin of Muscle Shoals, Ala., Craig Akin of Tyler and Jeff Akin of Winnsboro; brothers, Fred Lee and Ray Lee; sister, Mildred Pitts; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
