Obituaries Jan. 21, 2003 Longview News-Journal Billy Wayne Adams Services for Billy Wayne Adams, 65, of Kilgore will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Longview with the Rev. James Henderson officiating and J.T. Hogue assisting. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William Welch, Dan Dalton, Harold Brewer, Jack Casida, Bobby Boyett, Tommy Carver, Bonnie Jones and Gary Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Washburn and Ken Turner. Mr. Adams was born Nov. 13, 1937, in Kilgore. He died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Gaw; a sister, Mabel Sue Evans; and his grandparents who raised him, Jep and Sudie "Mama Sue" Adams, Mr. Adams retired from Stroh Brewery in 1986 and was self-employed until 1998. He was a member of the Eastview Baptist Church in Kilgore. Mr. Adams is survived by his devoted wife of 29 years, Shirley; a stepson and his wife, Charlie and Sheila Hayes of Cincinnati, Ohio; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Debra and Jerry McDowell of Longview and Cynthia and Steve Blankenship of White Oak; a stepgrandson and his wife, Joey and Audrey Long of Pasadena; his mother-in-law, Maye Belle Hogue of Harleton; sisters-in-law and their spouses, Chris and Bob Fouts of Longview, Daisy and Gavin Murray and Lois and Jessie Thomas, all of Harleton, and Alice Mitchell of Big Sandy; his brothers-in-law and their spouses, Hollis and Jude Hogue of Anchorage, Alaska and J.T. and Wanda Hogue of Harleton; special friend Bennie Parrent of Ore City; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank friends and family for their prayers and loving support. A special heartfelt thanks goes to Hospice Longview for their exceptional care.
