Obituaries 06-17-03 Longview News-Journal Peggy McAvoy Perry Anderson Jacksonville Old City Cemetery Peggy McAvoy Perry Anderson passed away peacefully at home in Tatum on Monday, June 16, 2003, after a lengthy, courageous battle with illness. Born in Jacksonville, she was a beloved and loving mother. She is survived by son Walter Perry and his wife, Jan; a daughter, Carol Klein and her husband, Chris; son James Perry and his wife, Karen; her cherished grandchildren, D.K., Robert, Zack, Amy, Jacob and Tony; sister Sue McKee of Houston, whose generosity and devotion to Peggy will never be forgotten; sisters Linda Carman, Jo Carlile, Nancy Holcomb and Ida Zimmerer; and her adored nieces, Sally Brunson, Kathy Ward and Janet Baker, whose cheerfulness and constant support brought much happiness to Peggy's life. Peggy was preceded in death by her loving brother, Donnie, and her parents, James and Irene McAvoy. Peggy is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Peggy counted as dearest friends Bill Bass, Nancy and Tommy Thompson, Nell Fernandez and Suzanne Parker. Peggy was retired from Southwest Airlines, where she was a longtime and dedicated employee. Peggy loved and guided her family with her incredible strength, judgment and generosity. Her commitment to family will be a beacon to all of us for the rest of our lives. We will be nourished by her wisdom, strength and love from generation to generation. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and many friends. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, in the Renfro Memorial Chapel at Boren-Conner Funeral Home with the Rev. Lester Foreman officiating. Burial will follow in Jacksonville Old City Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today, June 17, at the funeral home.
