Obituaries June 6, 2003 The Daily Sentinel Martin "Cotton" Lewis Alexander Bennett Cemetery, Groveton Cotton Alexander passed away on June 1, 2003. Cotton was born April 27, 1939, in Livingston. He was an aerospace engineer at NASA for 25 years. He worked on many Apollo missions as well as early space shuttle development. After retiring, he resided in Nacogdoches. Cotton is survived by his son, Jon "Andy" Alexander; daughter-in-law Pamela; daughter, Shari Duncan; son-in-law Robert; and grandchildren, Judson, Shara, Hayley and Sam. "Pops" will be best remembered for his unique sense of humor, his witty personality and his entertaining stories. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and his many pets. At Cotton's request, a private family service was held June 4, 2003, at Bennett Cemetery, near Groveton, where he grew up. Cotton had requested that anyone wishing to pay their respects may make a donation to the Humane Society of Nacogdoches County, 507 E. Hospital St., Nacogdoches, Texas, 75961, in his name.
